Workshop on Human Potential: Featuring Anjali Adukia Wed., October 04, 2017 | 10:30 AM — 11:50 AM Harris Public Policy 1155 E. 60th Street Chicago, IL 60637 United States Sponsored By: Center for Human Potential and Public Policy Join us for Anjali Adukia's workshop on "Educational Investment Responses to Economic Opportunity: Evidence from Indian Road Construction." About the Speaker Anjali Adukia is an assistant professor at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy. Her research is focused on understanding factors that influence educational decisions and the potential role for institutions, such as government agencies and nonprofit organizations, to improve child outcomes, particularly at the intersection of education and health. Her current work examines how the provision of basic needs—such as sanitation, clothing, and transportation—can increase school participation in developing contexts. About the Workshop on Human Potential The Workshop on Human Potential is one of the core intellectual activities of the Center for Human Potential and Public Policy. It is an interdisciplinary forum for graduate students, post docs, and faculty whose work concerns behavior, health, and well-being across the lifespan and the ways in which technology and public policy shape human potential and achievement. The workshop has active members in the areas of the social, behavioral, health, and policy sciences. The Workshop on Human Potential alternates between two types of sessions. Not only do we regularly invite outside speakers for a traditional “workshop” presentation, but we also provide a forum for faculty, post-doctoral fellows, and graduate students to present research-in-progress in order to receive critical and constructive feedback.
