Sofia Martinez

Sofia Martinez serves as the Program Associate with the Civic Leadership Academy at the Harris School of Public Policy, where she supports program operations. In this role, she helps advance the Academy's mission of developing emerging civic leaders serving Chicago.

Sofia's background spans the private sector, higher education, philanthropy, and nonprofit work. In Chicago, she has held roles with multiple organizations including the Chicago Community Trust, Current Innovation, and Pilsen Food Pantry, doing project management, strategy development, and policy analysis. She also holds experience working in assessment and evaluation after working with Virginia Tech Student Affairs, conducting data analysis, marketing and events, and survey design. Across these roles, Sofia has built a foundation in relationship management, qualitative analysis, and program coordination, with a consistent focus on social impact and community-oriented work.

Sofia holds a Master of Public Policy from the Harris School and earned her bachelor's degree in economics and psychology from Virginia Tech. Originally from Northern Virginia, she has called Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood home for the past two years.
