Shyla Harton

Assistant Director of Credential Programs

About

Shyla Harton joins as the Assistant Director of Credential Programs. In this role, she will support her team by helping with innovative strategies for recruitment, evaluation, and implementation for the Harris School non-degree programs. 

Prior, Shyla was a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Director for a behavioral health organization based in St. Louis. She had the opportunity to be the first DEI director while creating, implementing, and evaluating, various projects that promote inclusivity and build equity for marginalized employees. Shyla also worked closely with several stakeholders to meet strategic plan goals and to increase diversity within hiring, partners, donors, and board members. She also is certified by the National Conference of Community and Justice (NCCJ) to create and facilitate dialogue and trainings based on social justice and DEI. 

Shyla graduated from the University of Kentucky, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Social Work with a minor in Psychology, alongside a coveted Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion awareness certificate. Her academic journey continued at Washington University in Saint Louis, where she graduated with a Master of Social Work, concentrating on Social Impact Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship.
