About

Marley Mandelaro serves as an Assistant Director for Academic Advising & Academic Services in the Dean of Students office, where she manages a caseload of students from orientation to graduation. She annually supports Pre-orientation Programming and operates communications from the Dean of Students inbox. Marley is also the Harris Disability Liaison in conjunction with the Student Disability Services office. She is responsible for carrying out legally mandated disability accommodations for Harris students while advocating for increased accessibility in all aspects of the student experience.

Marley comes to Harris from Chicago Public Schools. She served as a social worker at Tilton Elementary School and Wells Community Academy, providing therapeutic services for students with educational disabilities in addition to the general population. Marley served on the CPS Citywide Assessment Teams, determining eligibility for specialized services on behalf of Early Intervention recipients and private school attendees. She assisted in launching Behavioral Health Teams across school buildings.

Marley holds an A.M. degree in social work and social policy with a clinical concentration from the Crown School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice here at UChicago as well as an Illinois Professional Educator's License. She holds a B.A. in theatre performance from the University at Buffalo. She is a proud native of Rochester, NY.
