About Derek Wu

Derek Wu is a first-year PhD student at the Harris School of Public Policy. He received an A.B. from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University in 2013, where he concentrated in economic and education policy.

Before coming to Chicago, he worked at the nonprofit group Ithaka S+R in New York, where he conducted research on costs, productivity, and online learning in higher education. Derek has previously interned at the White House Council of Economic Advisers and the National Council for Teacher Quality, and has served as a voting member on the Maryland State Board of Education.
