Postdoctoral Researcher (Instructor) About Derek Rury Derek Rury is a postdoctoral researcher at the Harris School of Public Policy working with the Behavioral Insights and Parenting Lab. Derek studies the economics of education focusing how students' beliefs influence their educational decisions and outcomes. He also studies the labor market consequences of those decisions as well as how educational institutions shape the way students think and behave. Derek completed his PhD in economics at the University of California at Davis in 2021.
