About Alyssa Szynal

Alyssa Szynal serves as an academic adviser for students in the Master of Science in Computational Analysis and Public Policy (MSCAPP) program, in addition to overseeing academic and professional programming for MSCAPP students. She also works with prospective students and applicants to the program throughout the admissions process.

Alyssa brings to Harris prior experience in graduate admissions at Benedictine University in Lisle, IL. She spent two years there advising applicants and working with graduate and undergraduate students in health, education, and business degree programs. Prior to that, she also has experience editing and writing for corporate and journalistic publications.

Alyssa earned a Master of Leadership Studies (MLD) in higher education from North Central College, with a focus on student development and leadership theory. She also has a BS in journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.
