About

Alejandro Monroy is a Senior Associate Director of Career Development at Harris Public Policy, where he partners with students to strengthen career readiness and navigate academic-to-career transitions with clarity and confidence. Since 2011, Alejandro has supported students across educational stages—from high school through graduate school—bringing a holistic, student-centered perspective shaped by roles in admissions, academic advising, and career development.

At Harris, Alejandro works closely with students to explore career pathways, articulate their goals, and build the skills needed to pursue meaningful public policy and social impact careers. His coaching style emphasizes partnership, reflection, and practical strategy, helping students connect their values and experiences to concrete next steps.

Prior to joining Harris, Alejandro coached master’s students at the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration, supporting career exploration and professional readiness. He has also held roles within the University of Chicago focused on student support, identity, and inclusion. Outside of Harris, Alejandro is a freelance photographer and volunteers with organizations advancing inclusive policies and communities at the intersection of education and immigration.

Alejandro holds a BA in psychology from Northeastern Illinois University and an AM in social service administration from the University of Chicago.
