Are internships mandatory?

At Harris Public Policy, classroom study is only half the equation. Harris Public Policy believes applied experience is a critical component of a Harris student’s education. Not only does it serve as an important stepping-stone to a student’s post-Harris career, it also deepens understanding of how the analytical tools taught in the Core curriculum are applied in a policy context. This type of experiential learning can be beneficial to a student as they explore new industries and sectors and consider new career paths. Practical experience also broadens both the student’s and the school’s networks and allows current students to contribute to the school’s essential mission of driving real-world impact.
