Newsweek cites Harris AP-NORC Poll June 27, 2024 In an article about a new Los Angeles County plan to buy $5 million in outstanding medical debt, offering relief to 150,000 citizens, a recent Harris AP-NORC poll is cited: A recent poll found that half of all Americans believe the federal government should be doing more to tackle medical debt across the country. A survey conducted by the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy and the Associated Press–NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that more than half—51 percent—of all U.S. residents believe it is "extremely" or "very important" for the government to help with relieving medical debt.
