From various outlets March 16, 2018 Professor Chris Berry Harris Public Policy Professor Chris Berry was recently featured in several stories discussing research showing the inequalities in the property tax assessment system in Cook County. The research shows that from 2011 to 2015, there was $2.2 billion worth of overpayment, and that in that same period of time, $800 million went from the top 10 percent worth of property tax assessment to the bottom 90 percent.
