January 19, 2018 David Stone Harris Public Policy Professor Robert J. LalondeThe life, legacy and contributions of Robert J. Lalonde, professor at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy, were remembered by the Becker Friedman Institute for Economics, who celebrate Bob, in memoriam, as a passionate scholar who cared about the effects that his work could have on people’s lives. "Bob's work changed the way we all approach research and how we understand the world. But more than that, he was the type of decent and kind person that parents want their kids to be when they grow-up," said BFI Director Michael Greenstone, the Milton Friedman Professor in Economics for the College and the Harris School. Visit the Becker Friedman Institute of Economics website to read the full remembrance. And yesterday, Dean Katherine Baicker's offered her thoughts on Professor Lalonde's passing.
