You are the future of Harris Public Policy.

As member of the Harris community, you are part of a worldwide network of fearless thinkers and practitioners—policymakers who wield their skills and knowledge in ways that change the world. You can help us strengthen our alumni network, assist with admissions and recruitment, improve career development for both students and alumni, and support the growth of our regional chapters.

At Harris, we also depend on your feedback as we strive to improve diversity, foster and maintain an inclusive environment, meet the needs of a growing international student and alumni population, and implement an effective student-to-alumni life cycle plan.

Help recruit the next class of Harris students.

Harris Public Policy alumni and friends are the best ambassadors for prospective students. You are the living embodiment of what it means to turn your passion into measurable results. Your experiences matter so much to those making critical decisions about the next chapter in their lives.

How can you help? Refer great students to us. Host a coffee chat for prospective students or a yield event for admitted students in your part of the world. We’ll support you with contacts in your area and a toolkit on how to have a successful experience.

Mentor. Advise. Motivate.

Be a Harris Mentor

By sharing their stories and talking frankly about professional goals and challenges, alumni mentors help motivated young professionals bridge their classroom experience with the real-world pursuit of a career. For many students, mentoring is a formative component of their professional growth. For alumni, working one on one with talented young leaders may be one of the most rewarding volunteer experiences they have.

Host a Student Extern

Externs shadow alumni hosts at their places of work for one to four days. Externships are great opportunities for students to explore potential career paths and for alumni to share their experiences. You choose the time frame as well as the student.

Help build a strong alumni network.

Each year, the Harris Alumni Council seeks nominations for new members who are invested in securing a strong future for Harris. The Alumni Council exists to foster mutually beneficial relationships among Harris alumni, between alumni and current students, and between alumni and Harris.

Members seek to promote the growth of regional presence through alumni chapters, expand Harris students’ and alumni connections to career opportunities, help refer prospective students to Harris, and guide development initiatives.

Connect.

The Harris Alumni Relations team hosts events throughout the year for our alumni. They offer a chance to network, promote lifelong learning, and build school pride. From our Harris Reunion Weekend festivities and Harper Lectures to happy hours and other regional alumni events, we offer multiple opportunities to connect with us through our events.
