A changing environment – via floods, droughts, or storms – affects residents indiscriminately, yet it is the economically disadvantaged who struggle to adapt and recover. The World Bank reports that climate change will drive an additional 100 million people into poverty by 2030, disproportionately affecting developing countries.

Join EPIC and the Chicago Council as we host Stanford University research fellow Alice Hill and University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy assistant professor Amir Jina, who will discuss how inequality should be factored into resilience planning for climate change at local and international levels. Moderated by Council senior fellow on Global Cities Karen Weigert.
