Can I defer my offer of admission? Do I have to defer a full year or can I come in January?

We strongly encourage applicants to apply for entry for the year in which they intend to enroll. Deferrals are not common and are considered on a case-by-case basis for one academic year only.

Typically, deferrals are granted for unforeseen health or personal circumstances that would make enrollment a hardship. Due to capacity limitations, not all deferral requests will be approved.

For most of our degree programs, core courses are sequential and offered only once per year. Therefore, if a student chooses to defer, they would need to defer for a full year. The Evening Master’s Program is the exception, as a new cohort starts each quarter.
