Join us for engaging, real-time class sessions with other prospective students to experience the Harris classroom. This series has been designed specifically for prospective full-time, part-time, and credential students interested in better understanding the unique UChicago Harris experience. In this Masterclass session, Carolyn Sloane, Assistant Instructional Professor, will explore topics in microeconomics and labor economics though the lens of creative sectors. While markets for creative products and services such as music, films, magazines, books, and fine art may be small in terms of revenue and employment, they have a daily presence in our lives. Sloane will highlight how facets of microeconomics and labor economics—such as market power, superstar markets, collective bargaining, contract theory, and technological change—apply to the creative sectors.
