With the increasing use of generative AI for election-related content, concerns over misinformation, deepfakes, and forgeries are growing. How can voters, candidates, and technology platforms take advantage of this new technology while maintaining trust and transparency in the democratic process? Join us for an informative discussion on Generative AI and Democracy and hear from academic researchers on how they are exploring solutions to these challenges. The first part of the event will include the release of a white paper with recommendations, developed in partnership with the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy, on the use of generative AI for the 2024 U.S. election. Following a summary of the white paper, a panel of faculty will provide additional perspective on the risks and opportunities of AI for the democratic process. This event is sponsored by the Business, Government & Society Initiative at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
