What is a memorable difference you made?

I was in the Peace Corp for two years in South Africa working as a community and resource volunteer within schools. Corporal punishment is big there. One thing you learn quickly is that you aren’t going to change the system, but you can find your one or two seeds to plant to make a difference. I found a couple of primary schools that were interested in learning and listening to alternatives to corporal punishment and why the practice was counterproductive.

What’s something quirky about you?

I live in an active Airbnb. So, that means that I get new roommates every couple of months. My roommate right now is from Switzerland, and it’s his first time in Chicago. I have had roommates from all over the world.  Actually, one of my previous roommates is applying to our Evening Master’s Program @ 1871.

What might someone be surprised to know about you?

I love Disney and Disney World. I am from Orlando, Florida. I worked at the park three times, and I love all the movies.
