Data and Policy Summer Scholar Program (DPSS): Academic vs. Professional Track Insights

Data and Policy Summer Scholar Program (DPSS) is a seven-week, part-time program that gives you the opportunity to study virtually at the University of Chicago. You will build a foundation in data analytics, learn to code in R, and engage in a policy research project.

Participants can choose one of two tracks—the academic track or the professional track—based on their primary learning goals. Both tracks offer core foundational coursework along with a range of customized resources to support your next steps, whether you’re preparing for top graduate programs or planning a career pivot.
