Data and Policy Summer Program (DPSS) Capstone Research Project Deep Dive Wed., March 25, 2026 | 12:00 PM — 1:00 PM Sponsored By: Office of Admissions The Data and Policy Summer Scholar Program (DPSS) is a seven-week, part-time program that gives you the opportunity to study virtually at the University of Chicago. Through DPSS, you will build a strong foundation in data analytics, learn to code in R, and apply your skills in a hands-on policy research capstone project. In the capstone research project, you’ll collaborate closely with faculty and a team of peers to tackle a real-world policy issue using datasets. Together, you will analyze evidence, devise data-driven solutions, and create professional deliverables that can strengthen your online portfolio and showcase your applied skills. Join Absera Melaku, Associate Director of Credential Programs, for an inside look at the capstone research experience. She will share what makes this fast-paced project both challenging and fun, and help you gain a clear understanding of what to expect as a participant in one of the program’s most rewarding highlights.
