6–9 pm, MiPPS Alumni Awards Gala & 20th Anniversary Celebration

Join MiPPs current students for a very special evening to celebrate 20 years as a Harris Student Organization.

We also encourage all alumni and friends of MiPPs to join us for a celebratory event where we will honor our 18th Alumni Award Recipient, Harin Contractor, MPP'08.

12:30–2 pm: Welcome Lunch and “State of Harris” by Dean Baicker

Join Katherine Baicker, Dean and Emmett Dedmon Professor for her "State of Harris" presentation and a welcome lunch.

2–3:15 pm: Highlighting Harris’ Programs

Harris in Leadership (Track 1): Join alumni leaders in a panel discussion about their board leadership roles within non-profit and business realms.

Help Shape the Future Class at Harris (Track 2): Learn about Harris' recruitment efforts, outcomes of the 2019 class, and how alumni & friends can assist with efforts; Presented by the Student Recruitment and Global Outreach Team.

3:30–4:45 pm: Highlighting Harris’ Alumni

Putting Policy into Practice (Track 1): Panelists will be announced soon.

Harris alumni have been instrumental in identifying innovative ways to apply their academic training into the real world. Learn about the projects that alumni have paved the way on bringing Harris faculty and students along the way. 

Alumni Making a Global Impact (Track 2): Panelists will be announced soon.

5–6 pm: Aims of Public Policy Address

James Robinson, The Reverend Dr. Richard L. Pearson Professor of Global Conflict and Director of The Pearson Institute for the Study and Resolution of Global Conflicts, will present the Aims of Public Policy Address. Professor Robinson, author of “Why Nations Fail” will discuss his new book, “The Narrow Corridor: States, Societies and the Fate of Liberty."

6–7 pm: Closing Reception

7–8:30 pm: Harris Alumni Awards Dinner

10–11:30 am: Harris Community Brunch

Join your fellow alumni for brunch with the Harris community and engage with current students and faculty.

12–3 pm: Get to Know Harris

Take advantage of your time on campus through this suite of programs and interactive sessions aimed to get alumni more involved with the life of the school.

You can participate in multiple sessions:

  • Open Alumni Council Meeting (12–1:30 pm)
  • Tours
    • Keller Center tour
    • Arts Block tour
    • Campus tour
  • Harris Showcase/Volunteer Fair

2–3 pm: Mini-Labs

  • Policy Lab
  • Behavioral Insights and Parenting Lab (BIP Lab)
  • Career Development Office

2–3 pm: Stay Connected Through Volunteer Leadership

Join a session facilitated by Ivy Sun, MPP’16 and Mike Ford, MPP’10, co-chairs of the Alumni Council’s Alumni Relations Committee, to learn about the unique ways in which alumni can get involved with the Harris community. Alumni and current students will also have the opportunity to hear about the regional alumni chapters and will participate in a discussion about how to strengthen their alumni network through local chapter events and digital platforms.

3–4:30 pm: Class/Affinity Specific Gatherings

Tap into your Harris community and reconnect with old friends and network with new faces. Please register for this session to indicate your interest in class-specific and/or shared interest group gatherings.

Confirmed events:

A Celebration of CAPP - A private reception for CAPP community members to celebrate the contributions of the many alumni and faculty who have helped to build the program ensuring that students have a best-in-class experience.

5–7 pm: Class Reunion Dinners

Alumni from the classes of 2019, 2015, 2010, 2005, 2000, 1995, 1990, 1985, and 1980 celebrate their milestone reunions this year. In addition, we will welcome back CAPP alumni. Join us for dinner to reconnect with your classmates.
