Course # 60000 Section Number 2 Day(s) Tu Time(s) 3:00PM - 5:50PM Term Fall 2017 Specialization Policy Analysis Harris Policy Labs is an intensive experiential learning initiative in which teams of second-year graduate students work under faculty supervision to apply their rigorous Harris education to help client organizations resolve real-world public policy challenges. Led by Professor Robert Goerge, this Lab focuses on social policy including education, health and labor. Students can participate in projects related to improving school choice, analyzing outpatient clinic care, creating an innovative tool to analyze labor standards, and creating an analytic framework for the University of Chicago Medicine's new trauma center. Clients include: Chapin Hall Collaborative in partnership with the Chicago Housing Authority, Cook County Health and Hospitals System, Oxfam America, University of Chicago Medicine Trauma Center Students will receive one letter grade and 100 units of course credit (one full course) upon completion of each one-quarter Policy Lab. Important Note: In addition to registering, students need to complete the Project Preference Form by Monday, September 11, 2017 to request your preferred project. The form can be submitted even if you have not registered for classes. Notes Individual Policy Lab projects in this Lab may be eligible for certificate requirements.
