The Harris Energy and Environmental Association (HEEA) is Harris’s environmentally-focused graduate student organization that seeks to foster environmental science and policy discussion and action among HEEA members and the UChicago community. Our goal is to connect students, alumni, and faculty, to the people, institutions, and ideas that are shaping the future of environmental and energy policy. We work to complement––not duplicate––the efforts of EPIC, Harris, and the University with a particular emphasis on providing Harris students support and networking opportunities with University communities, alumni, and beyond. We welcome collaboration with other University departments and environmental organizations throughout Chicago to sponsor events and network.
In the past HEEA has hosted lunch talks with renowned University professors, documentary screenings, social happy hours, off-campus tours of Argonne National Laboratory, and career networking nights with industry leaders.
Mission statement: To promote environmental solutions and a clean energy future through knowledge acquisition, advocacy, and policy.
