Will Howell, Sydney Stein Professor in American Politics, Harris and the Department of Political Science. Prof. Howell is the author, most recently, of Relic: How our Constitution Undermines Effective Government - and Why We Need a More Powerful Presidency Anthony Fowler, Assistant Professor, Harris Public Policy. Fowler's research focuses on difficult causal questions about political representation. When and to what extent do advanced democracies represent or fail to represent the preferences of their citizens and what policy interventions can improve representation. Faculty Spotlight William Howell Sydney Stein Professor in American Politics William Howell has written widely on separation-of-powers issues and American political institutions, especially the presidency. He currently is working on research projects on Obama's education initiatives, distributive politics, and the normative foundations of executive power.
