ATTEND OUR ADMITTED STUDENT DAY

You are invited to attend Admitted Students' Day on November 14, 2017 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at 1871. Admitted students will have the opportunity to hear from faculty and representatives from Academic and Student Affairs and Career Development.

ACCEPT YOUR OFFER AND PAY YOUR DEPOSIT

Deadline: November 15, 2017

 

Complete the Admissions Reply Form and pay your $350 non-refundable deposit no later than Wednesday, November 15, 2017 to secure your place in the Evening Master's Program. (Use the same login information that you used for your application.)


SUBMIT YOUR TRANSCRIPT

Deadline: November 15, 2017

 

If you submitted unofficial transcripts during the application process, you need to send your official transcripts to Harris by Wednesday, November 15, 2017. To submit official transcripts:

  • If your previous institutions allow you to submit electronic official transcripts, you may request those be sent to Harris at harrisadmissions@uchicago.edu.
  • Alternatively, you may request that your transcript be sent by USPS first-class mail or express shipping. Transcripts should be sent to: Harris Public Policy, ATTN: Admissions, 1155 East 60th Street, Chicago, IL 60637

Please do not send transcripts showing "unofficial" or "issued to student." We do not recommend that you to hand deliver opened transcripts as these may not be considered official.


SUBMIT YOUR FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION

If you intend to apply for financial aid, the UChicago Student Loan Administration (SLA) provides details about completing your FAFSA and other steps you need to follow to apply federal financial aid.

CLAIM YOUR UCHICAGO EMAIL & NETWORK ID; INSTALL VPN SOFTWARE

IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED

 

Claim your UChicago email and network ID as soon as possible. You will need it to access many of the UChicago systems on this checklist.

In order to access UChicago email, class software, and other network sites from home and at 1871, you will also need to install UChicago's VPN software on your computer.

Note: To claim your UChicago email and network ID, you will need your UChicago ID number, which is an 8-digit number starting with "12." You should have received an email after you paid your deposit providing you with your UCID number. If you do not know your UCID number, please email Admissions, and they will look it up for you.

COMPLETE THE MATH SELF-ASSESSMENT

Deadline: November 22, 2017

 

At the beginning of November, you will receive an email with links to Harris' online math preparation resources and a self-assessment exam. Please email your completed self-assessment to Michele Davies by Wednesday, November 22, 2017.

The results of the self-assessment exam will be used to customize the Math Prep curriculum, ensuring that students receive math content that meets your specific needs.


REVIEW THE ONLINE STUDENT HANDBOOK

Please read the Online Student Handbook, which details our academic policies and standards, by Friday, December 1, 2017. (You will need your CNet ID to login to the Current Students website.)


COURSE REGISTRATION

Confirm by December 1, 2017

 

You will be enrolled automatically for your courses each term. You will be asked to confirm your registration by email. Registration for Winter Quarter will occur around December 1, 2017. Please keep an eye open for your confirmation email around that time.


FEEDBACK ON MATH ASSESSMENT

Math Prep instructor Michele Davies will email feedback individually to all students.


NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

December 9, 2017

 

New Student Orientation for the Evening Master's Program will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 9 a.m. — 6:30 p.m. at 1871 at the Merchandise Mart with a reception immediately following the orientation. The program will consist of orientation information sessions and networking and community building opportunities. Spouses, partners, and significant others are invited to attend the reception.


MATH PREP

December 16, 2017

 

Math Prep will be held December 16, from 9 a.m. — 4 p.m. at 1871. Math Prep is a review course offered to all incoming EMP students designed to ensure proficiency in algebra and calculus.


REVIEW COURSE SYLLABI AND COMPLETE FIRST WEEK ASSIGNMENTS

December 18, 2017

 

You will receive information about how to access your course syllabi and details about assignments for the first week of class.


SUBMIT PROOF OF IMMUNIZATION

Deadline: December 26, 2017

 

UChicago requires that all students submit proof of immunization. Please review detailed instructions about immunizations required for enrollment and submit all forms by Tuesday, December 26, 2017.


PAY WINTER QUARTER BILL

Deadline: December 28, 2017

 

You will receive your tuition bill on or shortly after November 28, 2017. Final payment is due Thursday, December 28, 2017. Login to your My.UChicago student portal to access your ebill and pay your tuition. More information about your ebill and managing your student account is available from the UChicago Office of Bursar.
