Non-degree Programs

Graduate Student-At-Large Program

The Graduate Student-at-Large (GSAL) program is a quality grade and credit, non-degree program that enables adult students to enroll in courses that are offered by Harris and other departments and divisions of the University without being enrolled in a degree-granting program. The courses that are taken as a GSAL may be transferred toward an advanced degree. Those who later apply and are accepted into a degree program at the University of Chicago may not transfer more than three of the courses taken in the GSAL program towards their degree.
