The Center for Policy Entrepreneurship is a one-of-a-kind initiative focused on the politics of the policymaking process.
Public policy schools traditionally focus on providing training in policy analysis. But if we want public policy students to be able to turn good ideas into reality, then we must prepare them to be more than competent analysts. We must equip them with the knowledge and skills they will need to overcome the political obstacles they will confront.
That is the mission of the Center for Policy Entrepreneurship. CPE helps individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to improving public policy through evidence-based analysis develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the policy making arena. CPE is non-partisan and does not promote a political or ideological perspective. Its objective is to improve the quality of governance by empowering those who are committed to thoughtful evidence-based policymaking regardless of ideology or party.
CPE pursues its mission by offering for-credit courses and non-credit mini-courses, conducting research, hosting conferences, bringing visiting scholars and guest speakers to campus, providing internships in policymaking environments, and creating other research and learning opportunities for students and faculty.
