Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago

Science meets policy to develop a consenus around the world's energy policy challenges and their solutions.

The Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago, or EPIC, is an interdisciplinary research and training institute focused on the economic and social consequences of energy policies. It is a joint initiative of the Harris School of Public Policy, the Social Sciences Division and the Booth School of Business.

Our vision is to find ways to meet future energy needs for economic growth while limiting environmental and social damages through practical and efficient public policies.

EPIC brings together an exceptional mix of talent. The core research team is made up of world-class University of Chicago faculty from economics, physical sciences, public policy, business, and law. Faculty members are joined by computational science and engineering experts from Argonne National Laboratory. Additionally, EPIC works closely with the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists to communicate experts’ research to decisionmakers, the media, and the public worldwide.
